Next Bugfix Patch & Discord

I'm very much aware that the v0.2 release has been pretty rocky with the number of bugs, and the number of bugfix updates I released as a result of them. In particular, I apologise for all the saves lost as a result of those releases - I had no idea initially that Itch stores save game data seperately against each version, so all non-exported saves are lost if I upload a new version. Finding a workaround for that is my highest priority, because I really don't want to force everyone to start again with every update, and had actually gone out of my way to support save migration as best I could.

So I'm taking a bit more time on the next bugfix patch. I have a lengthy list of issues (thanks to all those who reported them), and I'm aiming to fix all of them AND get some solid testing done on the game before releasing it. Which means it'll most likely take at least a few days. To help out with this though, I've set up a discord server (Shady Games Discord). I'm hoping this'll help:

  • Bring all suggestions/bug reports/discussion to one place, instead of me having to jump between several sites.
  • Help players see/keep track of known or reported issues and reduce the number of double-reports (I'm looking at you, water recycler).
  • Facilitate proper communication between myself and testers (who I'm looking for btw) so that I can give them early access to new versions, and they can help me track down issues with it before I have to spam Itch with updates.

All that being said, this'll be the first discord server I've run, so I'd also appreciate help from anyone who has experience with that and is willing to lend a hand.
